The completion period for paid courses is six months. Access after the 6-month timeframe will be ongoing but on a request basis and at the discretion of WReNNZ. Allowing application-based access to past students will enable individuals to refresh their original learnings on an ongoing basis.

Our courses are for anyone who is keen to learn how to rescue and care for birds, no matter where you may live in the world.

Anyone under the age of 16 requires parental consent to access our course website.

We may utilise cadavers when demonstrating various techniques; this is so we do not stress live birds unnecessarily. Any live bird handling demonstrated is in full compliance with NZ Department of Conservation permit conditions and has minimal impacts on the welfare of the bird. Treatments or nursing of birds is recorded during the normal course of treatments of a bird and not for demonstration purposes.
